A más de dos semanas del paro nacional convocado por la CONAIE (Confederación de Nacionalidades Indígenas del Ecuador) el 18 de septiembre del 2025, los resultados brutalmente violentos y la represión creciente contra el pueblo ecuatoriano evidencian una vez más el manual de terrorismo de estado del actual gobierno de derecha de Daniel Noboa. El trágico saldo es el asesinato del compañero comunero kichwa, Efraín Luis Fuerez, en Cotacachi el día 28 de septiembre, decenas de personas detenidas y otras desaparecidas de las provincias de Imbabura, Pichincha, Bolívar, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, acusadas de terroristas por ejercer su legítimo derecho a la protesta, la persecución a dirigentes sociales, la ocupación de los territorios por parte de las fuerzas represivas del Estado y la escalada acelerada de represión policial y militar en las calles.
El paro nacional es una respuesta del pueblo organizado ante los sistemáticos atropellos a sus derechos fundamentales amparados en la Constitución, ante la crisis de seguridad, salud y educación provocadas por las políticas neoliberales y narcoestatales de Noboa. El levantamiento popular inició después de que el gobierno aprobara a través del decreto ejecutivo número 126 la eliminación del subsidio al diésel el 12 de septiembre de 2025, elevando así su precio, lo cual afecta no solo a agricultores, trabajadores del transporte y comunidades indígenas sino a la sociedad en su conjunto, ya que encarece toda la cadena de producción. Además de esto, el narcogobierno aprobó el proyecto megaminero Loma Larga, en el páramo de Quimsacocha (provincia del Azuay), desacatando el mandato de la consulta popular donde el pueblo se pronunció masivamente en contra de la megaminería. Estas son solamente las medidas más recientes de cómo el gobierno viene profundizando la brecha social a través de su política de saqueo y el manejo del país como su hacienda.
La Alianza de Organizaciones por los derechos humanos del Ecuador reporta al 28 de septiembre, un total de 48 personas heridas, 63 personas detenidas, 6 personas desaparecidas y una ejecución extrajudicial. Noboa y su camarilla cipaya tienen las manos llenas de sangre y su política de seguridad nacional, en cooperación con Estados Unidos e Israel, pretende silenciar las voces del pueblo, su lucha, su unidad y la historia labrada por su resistencia.
Les abajo firmantes denunciamos la violación sistemática de derechos humanos durante el Paro Nacional 2025, demandamos la protección a la integridad de las personas detenidas y exigimos justicia y aparición con vida de las personas detenidas que hasta ahora no han podido ser localizadas. Hacemos un llamado urgente a las organizaciones internacionales de derechos humanos, movimientos sociales y organizaciones políticas a condenar la represión ejercida por parte del gobierno de Noboa contra el pueblo organizado. Hoy necesitamos más que nunca solidarizarnos, movilizarnos, denunciar y hacer eco de la organización popular que resiste en las calles ante la bota proimperialista que está reduciendo a Ecuador en una zona de sacrificio.
Apoyamos el Paro Nacional, las causas legítimas de la protesta social y el llamado a las movilización popular por parte de la CONAIE, cuyas demandas son:
-La derogación del Decreto 126
-La reducción del IVA del 15% al 12%
-La libertad inmediata de las 12 personas injustamente detenidas en Otavalo
-Respeto al derecho a la protesta y organización, amparado en la Constitución Nacional
-Fin de la expansión minera y petrolera.
Nos solidarizamos con las familias, con las comunidades y el pueblo del Ecuador, que en su legítima rabia y con el valor de la lucha histórica hoy se enfrenta a uno de los gobiernos más viles y antidemocráticos del continente y el mundo.

More than two weeks after the national strike called by CONAIE (Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador) on 18 September 2025, the brutally violent results and growing repression against the Ecuadorian people once again reveal the state terrorism manual of Daniel Noboa’s current right-wing government. The tragic outcome is the murder of our fellow Kichwa community member, Efraín Luis Fuerez, in Cotacachi on 28 September; dozens of people detained and others disappeared from the provinces of Imbabura, Pichincha, Bolívar, Chimborazo, and Cotopaxi, accused of being terrorists for exercising their legitimate right to protest; the persecution of social leaders; the occupation of territories by the State’s repressive forces; and the accelerated escalation of police and military repression in the streets.
The national strike is a response by the organised people to the systematic violations of their fundamental rights protected by the Constitution, and to the crisis in security, health and education caused by Noboa’s neoliberal and narco-state policies. The popular uprising began after the government approved, through Executive Decree No. 126, the elimination of the diesel subsidy on 12 September 2025, thus increasing its price. This measure affects not only farmers, transport workers, and indigenous communities but society as a whole, as it raises costs across the entire production chain. In addition to this, the narco-government approved the Loma Larga mega-mining project in the Quimsacocha páramo (Andean high-mountain ecosystem, Azuay province), disregarding the mandate of the popular consultation in which the people voted overwhelmingly against mega-mining. These are only the most recent examples of how the government continues to deepen social inequality through its policies of plunder and by running the country as though it were his private estate.
The Alliance of Human Rights Organisations of Ecuador reports, as of 28 September, a total of 48 people injured, 63 detained, 6 disappeared, and one extrajudicial execution. Noboa and his servile clique have blood on their hands, and their national security policy—carried out in cooperation with the United States and Israel—aims to silence the voices of the people, their struggle, their unity, and the history forged through their resistance.
We, the undersigned, denounce the systematic violation of human rights during the 2025 National Strike, demand protection of the integrity of those detained, and call for justice and the safe return of the disappeared who remain unaccounted for. We issue an urgent appeal to international human rights organisations, social movements, and political organisations to condemn the repression unleashed by the Noboa government against the organised people. Today more than ever we must show solidarity, mobilise, denounce, and amplify the voice of popular organisation resisting in the streets against the pro-imperialist boot that is reducing Ecuador to a sacrifice zone.
We support the National Strike, the legitimate causes of social protest, and the call for popular mobilisation by CONAIE, whose demands are:
-The repeal of Decree 126
-The reduction of VAT from 15% to 12%
-The immediate release of the 12 people unjustly detained in Otavalo
-Respect for the right to protest and organise, enshrined in the National Constitution
-An end to mining and oil expansion
We stand in solidarity with the families, the communities, and the people of Ecuador, who in their legitimate anger and with the courage of historic struggle now confront one of the most vile and anti-democratic governments of the continent and the world.
